ANTIQUE FURNITURE
The owner of the business, Stephen Yates, started selling antique furniture in Fulham, way back in 1977.
"We were the original re-cyclers, taking 18th and 19th century painted furniture, stripping and restoring it ready for another hundred years of life. At the time we thought this was a fad thing that would last a few years at the most, and it is testimony to the popularity of these techniques that it is as popular now as it ever was. Furniture restored in this way has character, fits into many types of house and remains affordable.
The secret of our success is that we have concentrated on quality and service, restoring and trading without cutting corners."
Unlike many furniture dealers who stopped dealing in antique furniture to move entirely into new furniture, we have continued to supply the 'real thing' with great success. Restored properly, a piece one hundred years old will probably last for another hundred years! We specialise in antique Danish furniture, which is noted for its strength, looks and quality of workmanship.
When visiting us, please ask to see our storerooms of furniture awaiting restoration - pieces can be reserved on a 'first refusal' basis, and you will be called as soon as restoration is complete. Over 75% of our antique furniture is sold this way.
